The Ticuna Indians live in the
Amazon Rainforest of Northern Peru near the borders of Columbia and Brazil. There are over 50,000 Ticunas inhabiting 200
villages along 600 miles of the Amazon River.
The Ticunas speak a unique tonal language that was never available in written form until recently due to the untiring
efforts of faithful Wycliffe Translators.
There has been a great move of God among the Ticunas. They now have the entire New Testament and a large portion
of the Old Testament in their own language.

The Christians among the Ticunas no longer live in fear of witch doctors and the evil spirits of the forest. The Ticunas
initiated and are operating their own Bible Training Center and are raising up pastors and community leaders to serve in their local villages.
There is still much work to be done in eradicating endemic disease and illness. To help combat this problem Christian Emergency
Relief Teams (CERT) International has initiated a project called Wells of Living Water. Nearly 80% of the illnesses experienced by
those dwelling in developing countries are caused by impure water sources. Historically the Ticunas have obtained their water from
the rivers or from small water holes in the jungle swamps.
Due to the generosity of a faithful CERT partner who donated funds for a well drilling rig, as well as an adventurous drilling team of
believers from Tucson Arizona. There are now 6 wells pumping thousands of gallons of pure sparkling water everyday In the Ticuna village of Cushilliococha.
